Why routine is important to children?

Do you know we can schedule a routine for baby as young as 3 months? Most infants' sleeping and feeding habits become more consistent and predictable after three or four months, says pediatrician Marc Weissbluth, author of Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child.

A normal routine helps bring children comfort and consistency. Children often fear of unknown. This is why creating a routine gives them a sense of security and helps them develop self-discipline. Routines also help children understand time and time management.

Why Routine Is Important For your kids?

  • Gets your child's "body clock" on time

A consistent routine will help your child and their “body clocks” with many

day-to-day basics like:

- Ability to take naps and sleep well at night

- Ability to eat healthy, full meals

- Regular bowel movements

When your child understands their body and routines, they will know when it is time to sleep. Understanding that their bodies are ready to wind down and rest.

Routines don’t have to be boring. There can be exciting yet structured ways to build a routine. Such as a Saturday morning family time, a Friday night movie nights.

"Routines establish boundaries and guidelines for toddlers and children. It teaches them good habits and shows them the importance of routines, and fun times can make family life go smoother and enjoyable."

Why Routine Is Important For You?

Although routines take some effort to practice. But once you’ve set them up, you will feel more organised and in control especially when life is busy.

Note: Routines should be created based on the age of the child.
